MED275B (also cross-listed as MED 175B) is an introduction to the Stanford Biodesign process for health technology innovation. Students will work on projects in the space of medical devices, digital health, and healthcare technology with the assistance of clinical and industry mentors. This team-based course emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and hands-on learning at the intersection of medicine and technology. Each team will be coached through a process for understanding important unmet medical needs and designing a solution to address them. At the end of the quarter, students will present their technology to a panel of industry professionals and investors, and will be eligible to receive funding to continue working on their idea through the Biodesign NEXT program!
No prior experience in medical devices or health technology is needed. Applicants from all majors and stages in their education are welcome (including Undergraduate, Graduate, and Medical Students)!
